• Business details: company name, KRA PIN, IDF numbers and shipment information you provide when requesting quotations or cover.
• Claims information: incident details and supporting documents you submit.
• Technical data: IP address and basic usage logs, for security and fraud prevention.

2. Why We Collect It

• To prepare quotations and place insurance cover with IRA-licensed insurers on your behalf.
• To issue and verify marine cargo insurance certificates, including transmission to insurers and, through them, to KRA customs systems as required by law.
• To process claims.
• To respond to your enquiries and, with your consent, send renewal reminders and service notices.

3. Sharing

We share your data only with the insurers, surveyors and service providers involved in your cover or claim, and with regulators where the law requires. We do not sell personal data.

4. Storage and Security

Data is stored on secured servers, transmitted over encrypted connections, and retained only as long as required for the insurance relationship and applicable law.

5. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and may object to processing, by writing to marine@barstoni.co.ke. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
